Hello, my name is Alex

Hello, my name is Alex. I am a second year university student studying fitness management and personal training. As part of my degree I was required to complete a placement in industry. Since the beginning of July, I have been working with Matt. Sadly, my internship is coming to an end as I return back to uni. I thought it would be prudent to give you guys an insight into my experience in the fitness industry so far, both personal and during my time with Matt.
I was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic degenerative disease. In my late teens I was very ill, weighed 51kg and my consultant told me, quite bluntly, if I didn’t do something about it I would be dead by twenty-two. Now, nearing twenty-four and weighing 90kg; I’ve gained roughly 6 stone. I work out daily, my health has improved massively and my life expectancy is now estimated to be in the mid-late 30’s. Lifting weights quickly became a big part of my life, enjoying each individual session and witnessing as my hard work came to fruition. During this period in my life it became blindingly obvious how paramount good nutrition and exercise is when aiming for a healthier lifestyle. This is my aim; to educate and show people how nutrition and exercise can benefit their health, just as it has mine. Which brings me onto my time with Matt… We both share the same aim, to help people improve their quality of life through good nutrition and exercise. Sharing this same work ethic and ethos means working with Matt has been an absolute privilege. My time with Matt has been invaluable, I have learnt so much over the short time I have worked with him and as a result my passion for the industry has been firmly cemented. So Matt, I’d like to say a huge thank you to you; I would also like to say a big thank you to all of matt’s clients’, I have no doubt you will all achieve your goals!
